VISUAL SKATE COLLECTIONS BY DAVE BACHINSKY.

SKYLINES.

THE SKYLINES collection will have a total of 100 videos. Every video is a 1/1 filmed from a birds-eye view; their line is edited so it loops forever.

These visual series each focus on plazas, schoolyards, and abandoned locations. Each video directly supports each skater.

Walls.

The Walls collection is about pushing beyond the boundaries mentally & physically. As simple as skating 5 inch red curbs to skating beyond 20ft high flood gates. Most people don’t realize the endless attempts to get a 3 second clip for a video part. 2 hours of trying the same trick, with over 150 attempts, 3 hours of driving, 18 days of being injured, all to end up not getting the trick — November 13, 2023. After consecutive days of ice baths, I created these 4 generative art pieces are part of the process of filming in the streets for my 20th video part. 2 months later, I went back to the spot and landed the trick for my part. I intend for walls to be a major body of work that will develop over many years.

The artwork was made using a Japanese technique Suminagashi “floating ink”. A process of marbling cotton paper with water and ink that transform into patterns. This technique removes myself from complete control over the final outcome.

PJ LADD.

The first video in the Skylines collection is
Pj Ladd skating two benches in a row in East Los Angeles. I wanted to show a whole different perspective from his double bench lines in “Silence is golden”. This line was minted as a 1/1 (only 1 person could collect this video). With everything he’s done in skateboarding, I felt like this line should be shared with everyone.

I woke up in the middle of the night with the idea of changing the color patterns. For three days I created & exported over 150 different color ways of this line. I narrowed it down to 100 of the most eye catching patterns and created a collection with a randomized mint (when collected you receive 1 random video out of 100 different color way patterns). A lucky collector that receives the all green 🟢 line will be transferred the original filmed line.
